with Scott Drew, Baylor Head Coach;
2013 NIT Champions;
2 Elite Eight appearances; 2010 Big 12 Runners-up

Scott Drew has built the Baylor program into a consistent contender in the Big 12. Now you can learn the secrets to his hard working success!

Coach Drew lays out his defensive philosophy as he builds the Baylor defensive system from day one of practice. You will see how he teaches every aspect of the game as he coaches a young basketball team into the 2012-13 season.

Day 1 Practice:
Coach Drew provides a look into a video session used to reinforce good habits within his young basketball team. Rebounding, closeouts and transition defense initiate this practice. He details what a good and bad rebound looks like and how a team should look when they get back in transition defense. Drew quickly works through a series of fundamental drills to get his players going. Next, the Bears go through a post development workout, where the players practice finishing at the rim with duck-ins, cheat steps and lobs over the top. Drew guides you through progressive closeout drills, 2-on-2, 3-on-3, and then spends a good amount of time working 5-on-5 scenarios where his players work on all aspects of the game, including half-court defense, offense and the transition game.

Day 2 Practice:
Coach Drew continues right where he left off placing a strong emphasis on defensive rebounding and transition. He demonstrates what his players need to do to be successful when rebounding in the Big 12 by using a 1-on-1 box drill to teach proper form and technique when boxing out. He provides you with a look at how to defend the post pass and rotate out of it in his 4-on-4 diamond shell drill, which is another way to use shell defense to teach your principles. You will learn how to defend or score in transition when he demonstrates his Build Up Transition Drill. However, not everything Drew does will focus on the defensive end. In a 5-on-5 half court scenario he demonstrates the Baylor ball screen motion offense that includes several ball screen sets you can implement into your playbook right away.

Day 3 Practice:
Coach Drew uses his third practice session to spend time teaching post player and perimeter offensive skills. He uses 2-on-2 and 1-on-1 drills to teach proper post play technique and moves your players can use effectively to score against any opponent. You will spend time breaking down your offensive screening action in a 4-on-4 half court drill. Players will get the chance to learn how to react off of a screen and how to counter what the defense is doing in order to be successful basketball players. Drew will help you develop the necessary player IQ to keep your offense scoring against any defense your opponent throws at you.

This is a great DVD for any high school coach looking to add to their defensive philosophy or looking to add ball screen action within their motion offense.

2013.
